The NDP will end Canadian subsidies to American weapons manufacturers and divorce our economy from their military industrial complex.
If the federal government’s proposed “Defence, Security and Resilience Bank” sounds vague, that’s by design.
This isn’t some domestic military fund. This would be an international war bank meant to militarize Canada’s economy and tie us to American weapons companies responsible for countless civilian deaths worldwide.
And it’s all being done with zero public scrutiny or debate.
Military spending decisions need to be made in public view, not behind shadowy institutions where foreign military suppliers hold the power.
This action is tantamount to financial approval of Donald Trump’s seemingly endless series of militaristic blunders abroad.
These wars are doomed to fail, but designed to rake in cash for American weapons manufacturers and war profiteers at the expense of civilian lives, global stability, and international law.
This war bank has nothing to do with Canadian defence, security, or resilience, and everything to do with lining private, foreign pockets with your tax dollars.
