We’re asking Canadians to help apply pressure on the Liberals to stop dragging their feet and deliver the Canada Disability Benefit now.
Living with a disability should not mean living in poverty. Yet, for close to one million Canadians, that’s exactly what it means.
It’s been almost one year since the Canada Disability Benefit made its way through the House of Commons. Since then, Justin Trudeau's government has taken no action on implementing this life-saving benefit.
In fact, the Liberals’ most recent Fall Economic Statement falls short of the funding New Democrats believe is necessary in order to do right by Canadians living with disabilities. Now, with the federal budget just around the corner, we’re asking Canadians to help apply pressure on Justin Trudeau to deliver on his promise. The government has the means – it just lacks the political will.
We cannot allow Canadians to be legislated into poverty any longer. The Liberals must deliver the Canada Disability Benefit without any further delay. Sign on if you agree.
