Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government had no problem writing off billions in debt for rich corporations, but when it comes to students – they forced them to pay $4 billions in interest on their student loans.

The inflation crisis is making things even harder for young people trying to get their footing, we need leaders who are on their side and ready to give them the support they need to get started in life.

Jagmeet and the NDP are committed to forgiving up to $20,000 in debt per student for people making less than $100,000, and making sure young people get ahead by:

Permanently eliminating interest on student loans.
Permanently doubling non-repayable Canada Student Grants.
Working with the provinces and territories to cap and reduce tuition fees.
Building towards making post-secondary education part of our public education system.
