Say NO to Privatizing Our Public Healthcare

Liberals and Conservatives are planning massive cuts that open the door to privatization. It's wrong to make Canadians pay for care so the rich and powerful can skip paying their fair share.

Mark Carney and Pierre Poilievre want to gut our public healthcare system so their corporate buddies can swoop in and make a profit. Sign on to tell them that free public healthcare is a Canadian right.

    Pay up or wait longer. That’s what Mark Carney and Pierre Poilievre want for our healthcare system.

    Here are the facts:

    • Conservatives cut $43.5 billion from our healthcare system while they were in power.
    • They voted to cut funding for surgeries and reducing ER wait times.
    • They voted against dental care and free access to diabetes medications and contraceptives.
    • Poilievre’s chief advisor, Jenni Byrne, is a lobbyist for Loblaws – a company profiting from healthcare privatization.
    • The Liberals have had nearly a decade in power to address the issues with our health care system, but their unwillingness to act has led to unacceptable wait times and burnt-out health care workers.
    • Mark Carney wants to make things even worse by promising funding cuts so Canadians earning $1.4 million/year or more can pay less on their taxes.

    If given the chance, Liberals and Conservatives will cut and gut our public healthcare system and then turn it into a for-profit scheme. It’s what their wealthy corporate donors want.

    New Democrats believe that we should improve our healthcare system, not cut it. We should support doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals so that you can get the care you need, when you need it – without paying a penny.

    That’s true Canadian healthcare.
