Stop Unpaid Work: Support Canada's Flight Attendants

Tell Justin Trudeau to stop siding with airline CEOs and end unpaid work in the airline sector.

Flight attendants are forced to work an average of 35 hours of unpaid work per month – while airline CEOs continue to profit off their backs. It’s simple: when flight attendants are working, they must be paid.

Under Justin Trudeau's Liberals, airline CEOs have been allowed to cash multi-million-dollar paycheques while their flight attendants work for free.

Every month, flight attendants are forced to work an average of 35 hours of unpaid work. They are not paid for boarding, which can take up to an hour, or for their pre-flight preparation and safety checks.

Here are the facts:

99.5% of flight attendants aren’t paid while going through security
98.6% of flight attendants aren’t paid while passengers deplane a flight after it lands
75% of flight attendants are only paid a partial wage for mandatory regulatory training
98.4% of flight attendants are not paid while the plane is being held at the gate after landing

This is unacceptable. To New Democrats, the issue is simple: when flight attendants are working, they must be paid. Sign on if you agree.
