Singh names Howard National Campaign Director

OTTAWA—NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh announced Monday that Jennifer Howard will be the NDP’s National Campaign Director for the upcoming federal election.

Howard has been the Chief of Staff for Singh since 2018 and has been the campaign director for the last two federal elections.

A former cabinet minister in successful NDP governments in Manitoba, Howard knows what it takes to put together a winning team and has the experience necessary to take on Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative cuts and turn the page on Justin Trudeau’s delays and disappointment.

“I am honoured to take on this role,” said Howard. “And I’m looking forward to electing a great team of New Democrats focused on fixing health care, building homes people can afford, and lowering prices.”

“Jennifer has been an important part of our team—helping to guide our staff through two elections and two minority governments. She is a skilled leader, and having her head up our campaign efforts puts us on a strong footing,” said Singh.

Howard’s appointment will take effect on Sept. 16. She will be on leave from her position as Singh’s Chief of Staff until after the next election.
