A portrait of Canada's Senate in numbers: Senate expenses
Unlike the House of Commons, the Senate of Canada keeps no publicly available index of debates, no centralized list of votes by its members and no list of legislative work being done by Senators.
Information about their activities is spread over hundreds of different web pages. So, as a public service, the NDP has gathered together this data on the unaccountable Senate in an effort to draw back the red curtain.
Who are the biggest spenders in the Senate?
Unlike the House of Commons, which allows for expense data to be easily downloaded, the Senate spreads its information out over hundreds of different PDFs on their website.
Download and sort through all those files, and you will discover the following.
