New De-mo-crats kick off Movember in style
NDP MP Matthew Dubé shaves off Peter Stoffer’s iconic moustache in the House of Commons foyer
OTTAWA — New Democrat MP Matthew Dubé launched the NDP Movember campaign this afternoon by shaving his colleague Peter Stoffer’s moustache in the House of Commons foyer.
Surrounded by colleagues and NDP staff members, Dubé reiterated the importance of raising money for the fight against prostate cancer. “We’re all happy to take part in raising public awareness on men’s health, especially with regards to prostate cancer,” said Dubé.
Last year, the NDP campaign raised $32,000 for Movember. The 2012 goal is to exceed this amount. To achieve this, Dubé will organize a mid-campaign event to highlight the best-looking moustache of the New Democrat team. “I invite all my constituents to do their part for the cause!” concluded Dubé, who won the award for the best moustache last year.
