For decades, we've been losing decently-priced homes faster than new ones are being built. Something has to change. As Prime Minister, Jagmeet Singh will fix the housing crisis by stopping renovictions and building homes people can actually afford.
Rent is unaffordable. The dream of owning a home is drifting even further out of reach.
For decades, Liberal and Conservative governments have let housing profiteers treat our housing market like a stock market. Homes that are affordable are scooped up by rich investors, and turned into high-priced luxury condos, or something else entirely.
Pierre Poilievre is no different. When he was Housing Minister, he let 800,000 affordable homes be sold off to rich developers. How many homes did he build? Six.
Jagmeet Singh will do what governments should have been doing for decades: stop renovictions and build homes people can actually afford.
Affordable rent is possible. The dream of owning a home is attainable. But it’ll take a government that puts people before profits. Sign on if you agree.
