Design Officer

Canada’s New Democrats are searching for an experienced graphic design professional to work in a multi-project, multi-platform environment. This creative professional will be responsible for designing and creating innovative and engaging deliverables that elevate and differentiate the Party across all communications channels.
Please Note: This is a short-term, temporary contract position that will end at the conclusion of the next general Federal Election
Job Duties & Details
- Design effective and on-brand artwork and layouts for various communication materials, including social media content on various channels, print and direct mail materials, and more.
- Use templates to create election content for local campaigns and MPs.
- As part of the design team, ensure effective execution of all assigned design projects
- Ensure all collateral adheres to brand guidelines and meets the highest standards of quality
- Collaborate on integrated campaigns that span different mediums
- Other duties as required
Required skills & Experience
- Experience doing graphic design work in a primary role in a professional capacity, preferably for an ad agency, not-for-profit organization or political party. (Min. 2.5 years’ experience or combination of education and experience.)
- Detail oriented with the ability to set up files for print media specs
- Ability to work in a co-operative, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Proven experience with branding and identity design an asset
- Knowledge of web design process and best practices an asset, including image optimization for responsive design
- Exceptional knowledge of Mac platform and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop; Illustrator; InDesign; etc)
- Experience with project management software (i.e. Asana) an asset
- Strong design portfolio
- Knowledge of the New Democratic Party, its history, policies, and of Canadian politics in general
- Bilingualism (English and French) an asset

Salary:
Starting rate of pay is as per the Collective Agreement with COPE 225
Deadline:
