Yesterday, our government betrayed every Canadian that voted to change the electoral system – as well as everyone who voted to do politics differently.

Rather than fixing our broken electoral system so it benefits every Canadian, the Liberals are keeping the status-quo because it helps them.

But we can’t give into this cynical approach. It is more important than ever that we keep fighting for a fair voting system.

In his most cynical decision to date, Justin Trudeau broke a black-and-white promise to Canadians to make every vote count.

Liberals are claiming there was no consensus – but that is intentionally misleading. Here are the facts:

• Two-thirds of Canadians voted for parties promising electoral reform in the last election.
• Almost 90% of experts and 88% public testimony at committee hearings called for the government to adopt a proportional voting system.
• When the Liberals launched their own junk online survey they never even asked Canadians what system they wanted.

I’m not ready to give up on this fight and I hope you’re not either. Millions of Canadians are counting on us to ensure their votes and voices are heard.
